Acceptance
These Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Shanghai Wangyue Huishi Technology Co., Ltd. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your download, installation, and use of Cast Jiaobei (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
License
The App is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms and the applicable rules of the platform from which you downloaded it, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on compatible devices that you own or are authorized to use. We and the applicable rights holders reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.
Service Description and Outcomes
The App presents jiaobei in a virtual 3D form, lets you generate outcomes using device motion or on-screen controls, and can store questions, outcomes, and notes on your device. The baseline outcome distribution is 50% Affirmative (聖筊), 25% Unclear (笑筊), and 25% Negative (陰筊). Motion and gesture features may contribute to the random process but do not alter that baseline distribution. A single result or short sequence is not guaranteed to match those percentages exactly.
Digital outcomes are generated by a software random process. They are not a physical jiaobei cast and are not evidence of divine intent, religious authority, or objective fact.
Cultural Reflection and Personal Record Only
Jiaobei customs and interpretations vary among communities and temples. The App is offered only for cultural learning, personal record-keeping, entertainment, and reflection. It does not provide an authoritative religious or spiritual interpretation and does not replace local tradition, trusted people, or qualified professional guidance.
Do not rely on an App outcome for medical, mental-health, legal, financial, safety, emergency, or other decisions that could have significant consequences. The App does not provide professional advice of any kind.
Motion Safety
When using motion casting, keep a secure grip on your device and be aware of people, objects, and conditions around you. Do not throw, release, or strike the device, and do not use motion features while driving, crossing a road, operating machinery, or in another situation that requires your attention. You can use the on-screen controls instead. You are responsible for damage or injury caused by unsafe or improper handling of your device, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Your Content and Local Data
You retain your rights in questions, notes, and other content you enter. You authorize the App only to process that content on your device to provide storage, display, search, and sharing that you initiate. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use and share your content and for device security, deletion, export, and retention of important records.
The App is local-first. On iOS, history can be included in iCloud Backup or a computer backup of your device, depending on your backup settings. On Android, history is excluded from cloud backup and device transfer. Clearing App data, uninstalling the App, or losing or damaging a device may erase records if no usable backup is available. Premium Purchase
Some features may be unlocked through a one-time Lifetime Premium purchase. Pricing, taxes, payment, family sharing (if any), refunds, and purchase restoration are handled by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another purchase platform under its rules. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
“Lifetime” means that the platform account associated with the purchase may use the unlocked entitlement while this App and the relevant product remain offered and supported through that purchase platform. It is not a promise tied to any person’s lifetime and does not guarantee that the App, every feature, or compatibility with all future devices and operating systems will continue forever. A purchase on one platform does not automatically apply on another platform unless the purchase platform expressly supports that entitlement. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
Platform Terms
If you download the App from the Apple App Store, Apple’s applicable App Store terms and, where applicable, the Apple Standard EULA may also apply.
If you download the App from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service may also apply to your download, purchases, updates, and use of Google Play. If these Terms conflict with mandatory platform terms, the relevant platform terms control to the extent of that conflict.
Acceptable Use
You must not misuse the App, interfere with its normal operation, bypass purchase or technical restrictions, gain unauthorized access to systems or data, distribute malicious code, or use the App for unlawful, infringing, harassing, deceptive, or harmful activity. Except where applicable law expressly permits it or an open-source license provides otherwise, you must not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, sublicense, rent, sell, or distribute the App.
Intellectual Property and Third-Party Components
The App’s software, design, name, marks, original text, artwork, and other materials are owned by us or the applicable rights holders. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own license terms; these Terms do not restrict rights expressly granted to you by those licenses.
Updates, Compatibility, and Availability
We may provide updates, change or discontinue features, or stop supporting certain devices or operating-system versions when reasonably necessary. Platform updates, device performance, sensor availability, and regional rules may affect the App. We will use reasonable efforts to maintain the App but do not promise that every feature will always be available or compatible with every device.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that its animation, sensor recognition, random outcomes, or other content will always be accurate or suitable for your particular purpose. Any statutory warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded remains unaffected.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use the App, reliance on an App outcome, lost records, device damage, or third-party services. These Terms do not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including rights under applicable consumer-protection law.
Termination
Your license under these Terms may terminate if you materially violate them. Upon termination, you must stop using and delete the App. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including intellectual-property, disclaimer, and liability provisions—remain effective after termination.
Minors
Users below the age of full legal consent in their region should use the App only with a parent’s or guardian’s consent and supervision. Parents and guardians are responsible for managing device permissions, supervising safe use, and approving purchases.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and we will provide additional notice where required by law. Continuing to use the App after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App.
