Overview
Metronome (the “App”) is an iPhone rhythm practice tool provided by Shanghai Wangyue Huishi Technology Co., Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information.
The App is local-first. It does not require an account, contain advertising, analytics, or a crash-reporting SDK controlled by us, or use a developer-operated backend to collect App data. We do not sell your personal information or use your App activity to track you across apps or websites.
Data Stored on Your Device
Your selected tempo, meter, subdivisions, accent and mute pattern, volume, click sound, appearance, interface preferences, Tempo Trainer and Quiet Count configurations, and a local Pro entitlement state are stored on your device. The App does not upload these settings or practice configurations to our servers.
Depending on your system backup settings, these local preferences may be included in an iCloud backup, computer backup, or device transfer. Those features are controlled by Apple and your device and account settings.
Audio and System Features
Metronome click audio is generated on your device. The App does not request microphone access, record audio, or send audio to us. When Pro features are enabled, the App can use Apple-provided background audio and a Live Activity to show the current tempo, beat, and playback state on the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island. The Live Activity is updated locally by the App and does not use remote push updates.
Apple and the operating system may process audio sessions, Live Activities, system notifications, performance information, or related diagnostics according to your device settings. Those platform activities are governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
Pro Purchase
Metronome Pro is offered through the Apple App Store as a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase, not a subscription. The App uses StoreKit to retrieve product information, begin a purchase, verify the current entitlement, and restore purchases. We do not receive or store your payment card details, and we do not operate a server that stores your transaction history.
Apple may process purchase account details, transaction identifiers, region, and diagnostics under its privacy policy and may provide developers with limited or aggregated transaction and sales reports.
Diagnostics and Platform Services
The App does not contain an analytics or crash-reporting SDK controlled by us. Apple, your device, or the operating system may independently process crash reports, performance data, download information, or other diagnostics according to your privacy and diagnostics settings, and may make limited or aggregated reports available to developers. Those activities are governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your platform settings.
When You Contact Us
If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any other information you choose to include. We use it only to respond, troubleshoot, and improve the App. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information. We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and may delete or retain it as required by applicable law or legitimate business needs.
Retention, Deletion, and Security
App settings and practice configurations remain on your device until you change them, clear App data, or uninstall the App. Clearing App data or uninstalling generally also deletes the local entitlement cache, but Apple may retain a purchase record so the purchase can be restored under App Store rules. Copies in an existing device backup are not automatically removed when you delete data in the App.
Local data is protected by your device and operating-system security, but no storage method can guarantee absolute security. Use a device lock, install system updates promptly, and protect your backups.
Children and Guardians
The App is not designed to collect App-use content from anyone, including children. Users below the age of full legal consent in their region should use the App, manage device features, and make purchases only with a parent’s or guardian’s consent and supervision. Children should not provide personal information through support email without that consent.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and we will provide additional notice for material changes where required by law.
